In this unit, we will study several aspects of ancient Greek literature, history, and culture, including the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations, Homer, the Trojan War, Greek mythology, the ancient Olympics, and Athenian government. Our study of ancient Greece will continue in the next unit. Maps, documents, and PowerPoint presentations are included below for interested students and teachers.
Part I: Minoan and Mycenaean Greece
The earliest Greek civilizations were the Minoan and Mycenaean Greek civilizations. Our objective is to learn the basic characteristics of each civilization and to be able to compare them.
